We are a team of five cross-disciplinary students from the University of Manchester set with the challenge of innovating novel solutions to the global food crisis.

Sponsored by Syngenta, the "Thought for Food" challenge involves teams from 10 Universities around Europe. The first challenge was set on 23 March, while the competition ends on 12 May. By then, we will have had to complete several challenges - "Educate, brainstorm and prototype."

This blog will document our progress in the competition, as well as providing a forum to discuss global hunger, food production and food waste. We welcome contributions in the "comments" section... any feedback on our work will be useful! We are; Peter Bickerton, Ruchi Gupta, Jean-Philippe Michel, Jonny Spencer and Kelly Tate.
